Velvet Bookmarks

I hope you all had
a wonderful Christmas
full of fun memories
with family and friends!

We had a great time celebrating
the birth of Christ
with our two daughters, our new son-in-law,
and with our church family!
We are truly blessed!

I wanted to share with you
some bookmarks I made today
that will be given as gifts this weekend.

I LOVE these velvet bookmarks!
They were all over blog-land awhile ago,
so I've wanted to make some for
quite some time now.

I hope you all enjoy the remainder
of this holiday season!

And I'm looking forward
to the coming new year full of
fun and exciting adventures
with you, my friends!

Hugs!

One Thousand Gifts Giveaway

is giving away this treasure!

Rene has been posting quotes
from the book this week,
and it sounds amazing!

Here is the book review of
One Thousand Gifts
from Rene's blog:

***

This book cuts straight to the heart of loss
and asks the questions you are afraid to ask.
It goes straight to the issues.

Just like you,
Ann Voskamp hungers to live her one life well.
Forget the bucket lists
that have us escaping our everyday lives
for exotic experiences.

'How,' Ann wondered, 'do we find joy in the midst of
deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties?
What does the Christ-life really look like
when your days are gritty, long--and sometimes even dark?

How is God even here?'

In One Thousand Gifts,
Ann invites you to embrace everyday blessings
and embark on the transformative spiritual discipline
of chronicling God's gifts.

It's only in this expressing of gratitude
for the life we already have,
we discover the life we've always wanted...

a life we can take,

give thanks for,

and break for others.

We come to feel and know the impossible
right down in our bones:
we are wildly loved--by God.

Let Ann's beautiful, heart-aching stories
of the everyday
give you a way of seeing
that opens your eyes to ordinary amazing grace,
a way of being
present to God that makes you deeply happy,
and a way of living that is finally fully alive.

Come live the best dare of all!

****

Sounds great, doesn't it!

For your chance to own this amazing book,
before Sunday, Nov. 28th!

And don't forget to check her other
posts from this week for more inspiration!

And today is my friend, Karmin's birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARMIN!!!

special day!
Know that you are thought of today,
and greatly missed!

Has It REALLY Been THAT Long?

Wow...where does the time go!?!?

I thought that once my daughter's wedding was over,
things would slow down some, but it really hasn't.

Here are a couple pictures from their wedding
that was 3 months ago now:

The Cake
(Bri collects Willow Tree)

It was a beautiful wedding,
and we couldn't ask for a better
son-in-law!

I will be making a shadow box
for them soon, so I will post pictures
when it's done.

Also hoping to get some "fun" time
in my playroom so I'll have something
more to post.

Thanks for hanging in there with me.
I'll try to be a better blogger!

Today is THE Day!

Today, my first baby
is getting married!

I know....

What am I doing here???

Had a little time...

waiting...

for the cake...

for the bride and her attendants to arrive...

So I figured I'd take the opportunity
to finally post a couple pictures
from her shower.

Sorry it took so long!

Why Did I Wait So Long???

I have always wanted to make
my own jam
but I've been too afraid...

of what?

Messing up, I guess.

So yesterday, my friend, Suzanne,
sent me a link to a blog called

A very inspiring site for us Happy Homemaker wanna-be's!
With lots of recipes and helpful hints!

That blog led me to another blog:

which has all kinds of recipes and helps
for canning and preserving all kinds of stuff.
This is where I found the recipe for

She made it sound sooo easy,
so I thought I'd give it a try!
Washed my jars
Mashed my blueberries - the most tedious and time consuming part of the whole thing!
Mixed berries with no-cook pectin and sugar for 3 minutes!
And it was done!!!
Mmmmmmmmm!
Couldn't be much easier than that!
I really have no idea why I waited so long to try this!
But you can bet that I will be making
my own freezer jam more often now!

Do you can???
Do you have any simple recipes to share
with this canning newbie???

Hope you are having a great weekend!
Hugs!

What's Up?

So, what have I been up to lately?
Making some of these...

...out of Hershey's Nuggets, and putting them in little bags!

LOTS of little bags!

Why?
(you can probably guess!)
:)

My daughter is getting married next month!

The shower is this weekend,
so I've been busy preparing!

I'm hoping that next week I will have
lots of pictures to share with you.

Have a
WONDERFUL

OH!

Looks like I'm getting close to 150 followers!
Since I missed the 100 mark,
I'll see if I can put together a giveaway for 150!

But it will probably have to wait
until after the wedding...

So keep a' look-out!

The Dress...then and now

This year my husband & I celebrate
22 years of wedded bliss!

When I first saw this dress, I knew it was the one!

My daughter tried on my dress last summer...
and it brought tears to my eyes!
She is such a beautiful young lady!
So sweet, so loving!
A treasure!

It is my constant prayer that she will find
the perfect mate that God
is preparing just for her.
And that they will be as happy
as we are!

And maybe this dress will again be
 a treasured keepsake
of another lifelong adventure!

Please join as we celebrate and share
all things WEDDING!

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

White Wednesday 101

Last weekend was our annual
neighborhood rummage sale!

I did not have time to put together my own sale,
nor did I have much time to plunder, unfortunately.

But I did manage to find a couple
of white treasures to share for

I'm always on the look-out for
crocheted doilies,
tablecloths,
and vintage jewelery
to use in my crafting!

I think this pin would look nice on a journal.

Cameos are ALWAYS a good find!

And isn't she adorable!
Another good journal or
altered canvas piece!

But here is my favorite find!

A crocheted lace and pearl collar!

I don't think I could have too many of these!

Even though I really don't know what
I will do with them.
Do you have any suggestions???

Happy White Wednesday Hugs!
