It's In the Bag!

Last Saturday was the first Saturday in a long, LONG time that I didn't actually have something that NEEDED to be done.  And for a long, LONG time (since the making of my first bag), by daughter has wanted me to make her a bag featuring her all-time favorite actress,
Audrey Hepburn.

So Saturday was the day to
"Get 'er done!"

I have never printed on fabric before, but have read from several blogs about different methods.  The method I chose is probably not the best method for something that could need to be washed in the future...but I think there is a way to set the image before washing.  I'll have to check my files again.  I used an 8x11 sheet of mailing labels, stuck the muslin on it, trimmed & ran it thru the printer ~ Easy Peasy!

And here we go:

After printing the picture onto white muslin,
we added a small black floral border.

Then sewed the picture onto the front of the bag.

Whipped it all together and added straps & bows...

And...

WhaaLaa!

An Audrey Hepburn backpack bag!

Not bad for someone who doesn't sew much!
And it all started with a simple idea!

I'm linking up today with Tea Rose Home's
Check it out for some great inspiration!

White Wednesday All Around

Boy, have I been a bad blogger or what???
Way too long since my last post!
Has it REALLY been 2 months???
Well, I'm glad to finally get back to it
by joining in the fun of White Wednesday!

It's a snow day!
So far we have 8" with 2-4" more to come later...
UGH!
I'm so ready for spring & warm weather!!!

This display has actually been up for quite awhile
on top of my bookcases.
I did it at the same time as the Valentine's
display on the piano over a month ago.

I really like it, so it will probably stay this way for awhile yet!

Most of what you see here has come from thrift stores and garage sales last year.
The blue rose canvas was painted by my daughter, Taylor, when she was about 16 years old.
The cameo picture was a garage sale find for .25!
The "naked" book is wrapped with a printed muslin and tulle bow.

Here is the other bookcase top, a little simpler:

with notes of spring, hopefully on it's way SOON!

To enjoy more White Wednesday beauty,

Have a
Wonderfully
White
Wednesday
my friends!

Mojo Monday with Tim Holtz

I finally decided to cut into my Tim Holtz paper and break in my new Tim Holtz stamps for this
Mojo Monday.

Let me tell you, it was very hard to cut into this paper....I always think: what if I will need this for something else - once I use it, it will be gone!  Well, I finally just did it!!!  And I'm very happy that I did!

Here is the sketch:

And here is the card:

The little ticket tucked in the back and the words are from my new Tim Holtz stamp set.
To see more creations from tons of talented artists,
check out Mojo Monday!
It is sure to inspire!

Have a wonderful day!
