Merry Christmas!

Today all things are filled with joy, for Christ is born of the Virgin.

Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad!
The Lamb of God has been born on earth,
granting redemption to the world.
The Word, Who rests in the bosom of the Father,
has come forth without seed from the Virgin.
The Wise Men were struck with amazement,
seeing Him born as an infant in Bethlehem.
Let all creation glorify Him!

Come, O faithful,
let us go to see where Christ was born!
We shall follow the Wise Men, kings from the East,
and be led by the guiding star to the place where
Angels sing unceasing praise.
Shepherds in the fields offer fitting hymns:
“Glory in the highest to Him Who today was born of the
Virgin in a cave in Bethlehem of Judah!”

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace!
Today Bethlehem receives Him Who reigns forever with the Father.
Today Angels glorify the newborn Babe in hymns worthy of God:
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth, peace, good will to men!”

Christ is born, glorify Him!
Christ comes from heaven,
go to meet Him!
Christ is on earth, be exalted!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth,
and praise Him in gladness, O people,
for He has been glorified!

A Small Change

In case you didn't notice, I did change the name of my blog to ALL THINGS CRAFTY. I will still be posting things for scrapbooking & cardmaking, but will also be posting other things as well. So I thought that title would better fit. The blog address of Scrapin' Just 4 Fun will still bring you here. Hopefully it will be a change for the better, and my "faithful few" followers will still tag along for the ride, and will find even more inspiration! :) Maybe we'll find a few more blog-land friends along the way as well!

Here's hoping for a grand adventure in 2010 and beyond!

It's Almost Here....

...can you smell it???

Christmas is in the air.......

Wait, I think that is the smell of
Eggnog Bread baking!

It's all done...

Some is cooled and ready to put on ice...

The bags are all set to fill and hand out...

Now we wait..... the anticipation is almost unbearable!

I LOVE Christmas!

Have a BLESSED NATIVITY!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

I know it's a little late (in more ways than one), but here it is. I made this card for my mom's birthday but couldn't post it until I was sure she received it....which she did, but late. Used another Mojo Monday sketch for this one.

I also posted some Christmas stuff below. I think when I messed with the time stamp on my post, it messed up the auto notification. So be sure to check out the 2 posts below this one if you haven't seen them already (Mom - that means you'll actually have to click on my blog title"Scrapin' Just 4 Fun" to go to it...just so you know). :)

We're expecting a big storm tonight, just in case you haven't heard. This means my daughter probably won't make it home for Christmas Eve. I knew the day would come when we couldn't be together for Christmas, but I just didn't figure it would happen so soon. But not a whole lot you can do about the weather, so we'll just make the most of it. Hopefully it will be cleared out enough on Christmas Day to make it to her and to Jim's family.

And I hope you and yours have a Very Merry & Safe Christmas!!! God Bless!

Christmas Gift Bags

Just a few more things to finish up before Christmas! This was my project tonight: gift bags for my church family. I will probably be making tags to tie onto the handles as well.

I made copies of some old Christmas sheet music, distressed with walnut ink and added a sprig of greenery, twine, and jingle bell! Very easy...and elegant in a simple kind of way!
More projects to come.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A couple Christmas Projects

I saw this idea a long time ago - don't even remember where - to decorate a matchbox to give with a candle gift. I could not find a large pack of matches, so this one is a very small box that I found in the camping supplies at the local thrift store. I've had these little jingle bells in my craft stash for SEVERAL years and was never real sure just what to do with them...until this year! I should have thought of this sooner!

The only thing that is wrapped completely around the box is the twine. I didn't want to cover up too much of the strike area for lighting the matches. I think I've mentioned before how much I LOVE my Xyron sticker maker!
I think it was a couple years ago that I went to Archiver's with my friend, Suzanne, and we made frames. Since then I've made a couple - they are really simple to make! When my oldest moved out on her own, she requested a frame and picked out the paper. Here is the end results:

I hope it's not to frilly for her, but her sister has assured me that it is not and that Brianna will love it.
I inked the edges of the frame with gold ink - I can't remember who makes it, but it's in the shape of a teardrop. The paper already had gold accents, kinda marble-like or crackled, but I added some more just for good measure! :) Before I added the paper to the border, I inked the edges of the paper as well.
Hemmed & hawed about whether to use gold or pearl accents, but I'm glad I went with pearl...gives it a softer look I think.
The flowers were sprayed with gold Glimmer Mist and swiped the edges with gold ink.

I placed a picture from Brianna's graduation party of the 4 of us in sepia tones in the opening - looks good! I hope she likes it....my fingers are crossed!
