This Magic Carpet Has Landed

Well, folks!  Here it is....The end of the One World One Heart 2010 Giveaway.  It has been a blast to travel around the world and take a peek into so many talented people's lives and interests!  I am hoping that I will be able to spend more time looking up more participants...there were SOOOOO MANY!  I didn't hit as many as I had hoped.  And honestly, I didn't anticipate more than 100 comments on mine....I was pleasantly surprised!

The lucky winner of my drawing is Char of PawsN2Stamp!  I will be contacting you soon, Char!

I'm looking forward to participating again!  And I hope you will join us, too!

Tapestries of Nature

I just found another really cool blog: Tapestries of Nature! She is having a give-away for her 150th post...but she's not posted it yet! When she gets to her 150th, she will be having a drawing for a tote full of handmade treasures. Every time you place a comment on her blog, your name will be entered into the drawing! Believe me, there's a lot of fun things there to comment on!

And...if you have a blog and post her drawing on your blog, your name will be entered 5 more times! You know, even if this were not the case, I would STILL pass this along to you ~ I'd just HAVE to! This is just too good not to!

Take a look at some of her work:

So go check it out!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Thursday!

Forgotten Treasure

The other day, Taylor & I were in my craft room looking for sheet music she could use for a project she was working on when she stumbled upon this book.

It's a beautiful music book I bought, I believe it was last year, and put on my shelf ~ out of sight and out of mind! I can't believe I actually FORGOT that I had this! It is so beautiful!

I love the way the pages look, and the beautiful song titles...

And every now and then there is a picture, either of a composer or a vocalist. The back of the book even has biographical information on the composers and artists.

I just can't bring myself to take this book apart! Some day I will figure out how to scan pages from books to be used in projects. But until then, it will sit on our piano, where it belongs. Maybe someday my daughter will be able to play some of the songs for me...wouldn't that be a nice treat!

I did find, with the help of one of my favorite blog sites The Feathered Nest, a website that provides sheet music from all time periods. So if you are looking for sheet music to use in a project, this is much easier to use than precious treasures of the past! ~Click here ~ to check it out.

Give-Away Tuesday

I hope you are all having a great start to your day! We are expecting some snow here in the upper Midwest today - only about 6" in my neck of the woods. The southern portion of the state should see a lot more, but nothing compared to the DC area...my heart goes out to them!

I have found more fantastic give-aways for you to check out! Lots of them! Oh, & they are all full of all sorts of goodies!

First up, one of my fav blogs EVER! Dawn at The Feathered Nest is has this fantastic give-away going on:

And Lisa at Tarnished and Tattered is giving away this basket of goodies HERE:
Rebecca at Vintage Living is giving away this beautiful necklace she made HERE:
And finally, Trisha at A Vintage White is having a give-away for this georgous pillow HERE:

All you have to do is leave a comment on the blog with your e-mail info so they can contact you if you win. And you don't need to worry; when you leave your e-mail, you won't be added to any annoying lists and be harrassed by unsolicited e-mails. Blog owners usually do these give-aways as a thank you to their faithful followers, and to get to know new blogging friends. So go ahead....check them out! The worst that would happen is that you would find inspiration, and maybe even a kindred spirit! One cannot have too many, you know!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Finally Finished!

Last weekend I started another paper rose project and finally got it finished this week. I'm very happy with how my topiary turned out! My daughter who was visiting for the day yesterday actually thought that I had bought it from a local home decor shop here in town ~ quite the compliment! I will be posting this on Etsy soon, although it is awfully tempting to just keep it...

One World One Heart Giveaway 2010

MY OWOH GIVE-AWAY IS NOW CLOSED...

Thanks to all who visited! It's been a fantastic ride, and I've met lots of new blogger friends along the way! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have! Looking forward to participating in years to come!

Tonight I will be figuring out how to use the random number generator to pick a winner, which will be contacted sometime in the next day....Isn't this exciting!

Lisa Swifka from A Whimsical Bohemian is hosting a worldwide giveaway for bloggers and I've decided to play along! Since I am broadening the focus on my blog to include a wider variety of crafting and decorating, as well as paper crafting, I thought this would be a great way to meet more blogging friends who share a love of all things beautiful!

Lisa says , "The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way." How fun is that?!?!

The rules for this giveaway is simple. Just leave a comment (and one comment only) ON THIS POST with a way to contact you after the drawing, and you'll be entered! The winner will be announced February 15th, so be sure to check back then to see who won. And check A Whimsical Bohemian where all the bloggers who are participating are listed in the sidebar. I can't believe how many there are!!!! Amazing! My list of favorites is growing quite large!

Now, for what you've been waiting for - My Give-away!

This winner will have their choice of either a round or heart shaped tea-stained paper rose wreath! Below are a couple of sample pictures - the one you receive will be made after the drawing to your specifications!

The round wreath has a pearly shimmer spray added on top of the tea-stained paper.

The top of the petals on the heart wreath pictured below are red velvet shade.

Either wreath can be left with just the tea-stained paper, accented with the pearl shimmer, or colored. It's all up to you! Both measure approx. 13" x 13".

Visit the links at A Whimsical Bohemian sidebar and make new friends, get in on more giveaways and just have fun...because discovering new friends all over the world is the what this event is all about!

Treasure Hunting!

Taylor and I went treasure hunting today! Look at all the goodies we found! Will be using most of this stuff to make items to post on our Etsy shop. Check out what we've been working on this week in the sidebar!

A fun bunch of doo-dads for accent pieces!

One can never have too much lace! And I have ideas for the trays...stay tuned!

Getting ready for spring decorating!

Hmmmmm....whatever can I do with teddies? :)

I just loved the colors of these ribbons - champagne and light rose - beautiful!

Better view of colors...

I'm excited! I have lots of ideas flying around in my head! Now to find the time to get them done - that will be the challenge!

A NEW ADVENTURE!

Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted anything...Yes, I'm still here!

Well, I've taken the plunge and have finally decided to open a shop on ETSY! I've been tossing the idea around for quite awhile and kept going back & forth on whether to do it or not. My daughter encouraged me to step out...and so I did! Taylor is going to be helping me with the site, as well as posting some of her own creations. I'm very excited about the possibilities and have been thinking of other creations to post.

So take a look - there's not much there right now, but it's a start! :) More to come!

Merry Christmas!

Today all things are filled with joy, for Christ is born of the Virgin.

Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad!
The Lamb of God has been born on earth,
granting redemption to the world.
The Word, Who rests in the bosom of the Father,
has come forth without seed from the Virgin.
The Wise Men were struck with amazement,
seeing Him born as an infant in Bethlehem.
Let all creation glorify Him!

Come, O faithful,
let us go to see where Christ was born!
We shall follow the Wise Men, kings from the East,
and be led by the guiding star to the place where
Angels sing unceasing praise.
Shepherds in the fields offer fitting hymns:
“Glory in the highest to Him Who today was born of the
Virgin in a cave in Bethlehem of Judah!”

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace!
Today Bethlehem receives Him Who reigns forever with the Father.
Today Angels glorify the newborn Babe in hymns worthy of God:
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth, peace, good will to men!”

Christ is born, glorify Him!
Christ comes from heaven,
go to meet Him!
Christ is on earth, be exalted!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth,
and praise Him in gladness, O people,
for He has been glorified!

A Small Change

In case you didn't notice, I did change the name of my blog to ALL THINGS CRAFTY. I will still be posting things for scrapbooking & cardmaking, but will also be posting other things as well. So I thought that title would better fit. The blog address of Scrapin' Just 4 Fun will still bring you here. Hopefully it will be a change for the better, and my "faithful few" followers will still tag along for the ride, and will find even more inspiration! :) Maybe we'll find a few more blog-land friends along the way as well!

Here's hoping for a grand adventure in 2010 and beyond!

It's Almost Here....

...can you smell it???

Christmas is in the air.......

Wait, I think that is the smell of
Eggnog Bread baking!

It's all done...

Some is cooled and ready to put on ice...

The bags are all set to fill and hand out...

Now we wait..... the anticipation is almost unbearable!

I LOVE Christmas!

Have a BLESSED NATIVITY!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

I know it's a little late (in more ways than one), but here it is. I made this card for my mom's birthday but couldn't post it until I was sure she received it....which she did, but late. Used another Mojo Monday sketch for this one.

I also posted some Christmas stuff below. I think when I messed with the time stamp on my post, it messed up the auto notification. So be sure to check out the 2 posts below this one if you haven't seen them already (Mom - that means you'll actually have to click on my blog title"Scrapin' Just 4 Fun" to go to it...just so you know). :)

We're expecting a big storm tonight, just in case you haven't heard. This means my daughter probably won't make it home for Christmas Eve. I knew the day would come when we couldn't be together for Christmas, but I just didn't figure it would happen so soon. But not a whole lot you can do about the weather, so we'll just make the most of it. Hopefully it will be cleared out enough on Christmas Day to make it to her and to Jim's family.

And I hope you and yours have a Very Merry & Safe Christmas!!! God Bless!
