Today is THE Day!

Today, my first baby

is getting married!

I know....

What am I doing here???

Had a little time...

waiting...

for the cake...

for the bride and her attendants to arrive...

So I figured I'd take the opportunity

to finally post a couple pictures 

from her shower.

What's Up?

So, what have I been up to lately?

Making some of these...

My daughter is getting married next month!

The shower is this weekend,

so I've been busy preparing!

I'm hoping that next week I will have

lots of pictures to share with you.

The Dress...then and now

This year my husband & I celebrate

22 years of wedded bliss!

 

  When I first saw this dress, I knew it was the one!

 

My daughter tried on my dress last summer...

and it brought tears to my eyes!

She is such a beautiful young lady!

So sweet, so loving!

A treasure!

It is my constant prayer that she will find 

the perfect mate that God

is preparing just for her.

And that they will be as happy

as we are!

And maybe this dress will again be

 a treasured keepsake

of another lifelong adventure!

A Blushing Bride? Not Quite Yet...

My daughter recently took a trip to see her Gramma for the weekend.  While she was there, she pulled out my wedding dress and tried it on...and it fit!  Wow!  I don't remember being that small!  

I have always thought that it would be so cool to have one of my daughters wear my wedding dress on their special day!  My oldest is a little more modern than the style of my dress, so I don't think she'd be interested.  But it could definitely work for my youngest!  Now, she is not dating anyone at the moment, so I've got awhile to wait yet.  But that's ok! Can't rush these things, you know!  After all, she did JUST graduate from high school...

So for this White Wednesday post over at Faded Charm, I would like to show off my beautiful daughter!

If I had a dime for every time I saw this look, 

I could retire!

Bridal Shower Card

Well, I didn't get as much accomplished this weekend as I had hoped.  I did get a gift made for a friends bridal shower next week.  So tonight I made the card.  When giving a gift, most of the time I will match the card to the gift ~ but not this time.  You will have to wait to see what the gift is (I know ~ I'm cruel!).

The wedding colors are royal blue and bright green.  I'm sorry, but I just couldn't bring myself to put bright green on a shower/wedding card.  I don't know...just seems too bright or unusual...something!  So I just went with royal blue for the accent paper.

(I apologize for such horrible pictures.  One of these days I will make a photo box for my cards.)

The dress is a sticker that I put on white paper & cut out.  It is popped up from the embossed background but you can hardly tell.  Word is stamped with silver ink.

Now the only thing left is the inside.  In case you haven't noticed, I'm not a very "wordy" person, so I really struggle with what to put on the inside of cards without sounding totally tacky.  So if you have any ideas, feel free to share them!  :)

Mojo White Wednesday!

It has been quite some time since I've participated in Mojo Monday ~ And tonight my mojo was flowing!  I've been mulling this idea around since I saw the MM sketch for this week and had a general idea what I wanted to do.  And the end results are actually better than I had planned!  I LOVE it when that happens!

And....since the major part of this card IS white, I will be posting this on White Wednesday over at Faded Charm this week also.  Two posts for the same week!  And I thought I didn't have any white......

Mojo Monday Card Sketch - Wedding & Anniversary Cards

A friend of mine needed a wedding card for this weekend, so I decided to use the Mojo Monday week 98 card sketch challange. Here is the sketch:
I'm not sure how much I like my card, but my friend was happy with it. I think it's the colors that threw me off. I'm not a "peachy" sort of person...

I like the affect of the Twinkling H2O's on the cake! Also used black embossing on the cake and popped up the circle portion for depth. Most of the other supplies were from my scraps stash, and the peach colored paper is CTMH Taffy.

My in-laws have a wedding anniversary this week, so I decided to use the same sketch, but with a little creative licence and made a few changes. I think the only difference is there's no circuit, and I used a rectangle for the image instead of a square. My in-laws love victorian decor so I found this image on a blog that has free vintage prints for crafters to use. I will definitely be using that blog again! AWESOME images!

I've been feeling the "urge" to create more lately, so keep watching! Will most likely be posting more goodies before the weekend is done.
