October Silver Sunday

Last week my parents were visiting from Colorado,
on their way to warmer climates in Savannah, GA
then to Sarasota, FL.

And of course we did some shopping!
Went to our favorite antiques shops
and I found a couple of silver treasures
to share with you today!

I love these little candelabras!

They aren't that big

But they're HUGE on style!

Now to find a good place for them!

Also found a box of candy molds!

See the nickel in there?  Wanted to add something
to give you an idea of the size of the molds.
Not sure yet what I'll do with them...
Maybe ornaments.
Do you have any ideas???
I'd love to hear them!

Linking up today with

Have a beautiful fall Sunday,
My favorite time of the year!

Hugs!

A Little Silver Sunday

On the way home from the local farmers market this morning we stopped at a rummage sale.  As we pulled up, my husband said it didn't look like it had much of interest, but I quickly informed him that sometimes it's the ones that look like they have nothing that have EVERYTHING!  It is true that one man's trash is another man's treasure!  And that was true of this little garage sale.

They did have quite a few goodies, but unfortunately, since we were just coming from the farmers market, our pockets were near empty... just a few dollars were available for spending.  But sometimes that's all you need.

And here is the little silver treasure I found ~ this adorable little frame!

It's about 2" x 3", and VERY heavy!!!

I love the scroll work, and the stand in the back is very different from any I've seen.

Not bad for $.50!!!

I posted this frame before.  Found this at one of my favorite antique malls.
It's stamped MadeInItaly on the back...too cool!

And found this at the same mall.
I always wanted a frog but never found one until now!

Have a great weekend!

Heritage Wall for Silver Sunday

Family

Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal is hosting Silver Sunday.
Today I am sharing my family heritage wall,
honoring our parents and grandparents.

I think this key was my grandmothers.

The little New Testament Bible used to belong to my husband's grandfather.

Not silver, but treasures just the same.
The kitty salt shaker and little note mailbox were my grandmothers.
I remember writing little love notes
and placing them inside!
There is still one in there today!

The pictures in the teapot frame are of me, my mom and her mom at about the same age.

Happy Silver Sunday!
Thanks for stopping by!

                              Warmly,
                                      Lori
