Birdies and Bunnies...It Is Spring!!!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!

and I have decided to finally change

a few decorations....

it's only been over a year...

I think it's time!

Since my daughter was married and

moved out last summer,

and taken the piano with her

(one of my main decor spots)

I haven't been real motivated

to change anything.

I have 2 tall bookcases

in the corners on my sitting room

that have had the same things on top

of them since February 2011!

Time for a change!

A small one, but a change none the less...

There are birdies in the sitting room!

I made the topiary a while ago out of coffee filters.

 And bunnies in the kitchen!

Love this little guy! You can see a little of the glitter on him...

These pie safes are my pantry, since my small kitchen has none.  They're probably one (or 2) of the best things I ever purchased!

So what are those little green beans, you may ask???

They are dyed white navy beans!

Inspiration

Inspiration is EVERYWHERE!

There are so many things

that catch my eye,

and I think,

"Someday, I would like to try that!"

If I had a book to hold

everything I would like to make

it would fill many volumes in a library....

~ But this ~

This was just what I needed

to get myself off my seat

and actually create!

Karen over at Todolwen made this beautiful

sewing kit from a 

Bath & Body Works Wallflowers box.

Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

(You need to go to her blog & see all the goodies she has packed inside this little box!  It's incredible!)

And here is my version:

 What started out as my own sewing box...

 ended up a "nature" box!

(which is why there's pattern paper covering the inside instead of sheet music!)

 Stamped muslin and sprigs of lavender cover the inside of the box lid.

 And little inspirations of nature fill the bottom.

 

 This was to be a Mother's Day gift for my mom,

so I wanted to fill it with things she likes...

like lavender and bird houses!

I'm hoping to find more of these little boxes at

Bath & Body Works so I can make more!

A New Nest...

A couple, actually....

A pair even!

The results of a productive evening in the "playroom!"

For me, these are a great size ~

the nests are no larger than 3/4" wide,

which is about the size of a dime.

~~ PERFECT!~~

And I'm in the "development" stages of a coordinating necklace!

White Wednesday

I will be making more of these...

in pretty pinks and light blues...

maybe as a necklace, or earrings...definitely more pendants!

I had some scraps laying around on my table, so I made this tag,

tied it to this "Garden in a Bag,"

and embellished with my nest pendant

to give to a dear friend for her birthday.

A White Wednesday Spring Table

It's been a slow week...haven't MADE anything white (besides the card in the last post)...

haven't photographed anything white...

Soooo...

I did a little "window" shopping on Pottery Barn's website!

Spring is in the air!

These serving dishes are awesome!

I would love to have this perfectly distressed table.
