Look What Came in the Mail!

Lately I have developed a love of anything French!
It all just looks so chic! So sophisticated!

And I LOVE visiting Rhonda over at
She does some incredible French themed art!

Last week I Checked out Rhonda's Etsy shop
and was literally DROOLING!
(No exaggeration here!)

I ordered a packet of vintage French book pages,
which were very reasonably priced in my opinion!

And my treasures arrived in the mail yesterday!

It was packaged so cool,
but in my excitement, I didn't bother
grabbing the camera
to snap some pictures before I TORE into it!!!!

The card on the top here was on the top of the white tissue wrapped package.
And inside was not only the vintage book
pages I had ordered,
but ALSO a little brown envelope full of more goodies!

Mmmmmm....LOVE IT!!!

Here's the envelope, so sweetly stamped
and wrapped in vintage lace!
(sorry for the blurry picture!  I was so excited
I just couldn't sit still!)

And here's what was inside!

Some stamped hang tags!

A larger label-embellished tag!

And some wonderful French clipart!

And Rhonda also hosts a French Friday Giveaway
EVERY WEEK
on her blog!!!
How cool is that?!?!

Please stop by
and tell Rhonda I sent ya!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs!

Ready to Party!

I so wanted to participate in the Rosette Theme Party over at The French Cupboard!  Today was the first chance I've had to play this week, so that's what I did ~ I played the day away and made some rosette pins!

This little white one is my favorite!

The purple wouldn't show up very well in my pictures.
This is actually a very deep, dark purple.

Linking up with The French Cupboard's

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

A Little Silver Sunday

On the way home from the local farmers market this morning we stopped at a rummage sale.  As we pulled up, my husband said it didn't look like it had much of interest, but I quickly informed him that sometimes it's the ones that look like they have nothing that have EVERYTHING!  It is true that one man's trash is another man's treasure!  And that was true of this little garage sale.

They did have quite a few goodies, but unfortunately, since we were just coming from the farmers market, our pockets were near empty... just a few dollars were available for spending.  But sometimes that's all you need.

And here is the little silver treasure I found ~ this adorable little frame!

It's about 2" x 3", and VERY heavy!!!

I love the scroll work, and the stand in the back is very different from any I've seen.

Not bad for $.50!!!

I posted this frame before.  Found this at one of my favorite antique malls.
It's stamped MadeInItaly on the back...too cool!

And found this at the same mall.
I always wanted a frog but never found one until now!

Have a great weekend!

A Blushing Bride? Not Quite Yet...

My daughter recently took a trip to see her Gramma for the weekend.  While she was there, she pulled out my wedding dress and tried it on...and it fit!  Wow!  I don't remember being that small!

I have always thought that it would be so cool to have one of my daughters wear my wedding dress on their special day!  My oldest is a little more modern than the style of my dress, so I don't think she'd be interested.  But it could definitely work for my youngest!  Now, she is not dating anyone at the moment, so I've got awhile to wait yet.  But that's ok! Can't rush these things, you know!  After all, she did JUST graduate from high school...

So for this White Wednesday post over at Faded Charm, I would like to show off my beautiful daughter!

If I had a dime for every time I saw this look,
I could retire!
{smile!} {wink!}

The train...all wrapped up!

That's better!

Gorgeous!

Where did the time go?
This mama is so proud of her little girl!
Her inner beauty just radiates from her!
I love you, my little Bug!

Enjoying the Beauty of God's Creation

I have always dreamed of having my own garden,
full of beautiful flowers and yummy veggies!
When we started looking for our first home 9 years ago I had hoped that we would have a place with enough room for this garden.  It ended up that the house we bought had very little space for a garden, most of the yard is shaded, and time for gardening was and is practically non-existent.
I've done what I can with what little I have, with a small floral garden on the side of the house.  It's not much, but it will do.  And if I had time, I could have used more space in the back yard for a shade garden...but that never happened.

So, we take the time to enjoy OTHER gardens!
Like my mother-in-law's.
Recently, my daughter took a weekend trip to her Gramma's house.  While she was there, she took some pictures around the yard.  Just look at these beauties!

These are real!

Mom's Garden

We also went to the Green Bay Botanical Garden last week:

So many beautiful roses!!!!

This is cool!  A smoke bush!  It really looked like smoke!

There was also a maze!  Can you see us?

Now this is a unique specimen!

Butterfly Wishes

Yesterday a butterfly
Came floating gently through the sky.
He soared up through the atmosphere
Then drifted close enough to hear.

I said, "I'd love to fly with you
And sail around the way you do.
It looks like it would be such fun
To fly up toward the summer sun.

But I have not your graceful charm.
I haven't wings, just these two arms.
I've been designed to walk around.
My human feet must touch the ground.

Then magically he spoke to me
and told me what his wish would be.

He said, "What I'd love most to do
Is walk upon God's Earth with you,
To squish it's mud between my toes
Or touch my finger to my nose.

I'd love just once to walk around
With human feet to touch the ground,
But I have not two legs that swing,
I haven't arms, just these two wings."

And so we went our separate ways
In wonder and surprise.
For we'd both seen God's precious gifts
Through someone else's eyes.
