Card Make-N-Take Workshop

I have heard from several people that they are not able to make the crop/craft day scheduled for Saturday, 1/31/09. So, I have decided to have a "make-up" night for people to come and just make the cards.

These will be the same cards that will be available for the crop/craft night on Saturday, 01/31.

Join us on Friday, February 6th at 6:30PM for a 4-card Make-N-Take!

All you need to bring is your adhesive, scissors, and smiles! :)

Please let me know either by phone, e-mail or by posting comment on my blog if you plan on attending either event so I'm sure to have enough supplies on hand.

Craft Day Get-Together

Hi All!

It has been way too long since we've planned a Craft Day get-together, hasn't it!

Please plan on joining Kim & I on Saturday, 01/31/09 for a day of crafting, talking and laughing! We will meet at St Matthew Orthodox Church, 1226 Redwood Dr, Green Bay ( check out the website for directions:
http://www.smocgb.com/id5.html) from 10AM - 4PM. As usual, Kim & I will bring a bunch of our scrapping and stamping supplies for everyone to use. Please bring a sack lunch for yourself, as well as any project you want to work on.

This get-together is not limited to scrapbooking or stamping! Please feel free to join us to work on any other project you may be working on, whether it's knitting or maybe that cross-stitch project you've been working on for YEARS! (I know I have a few of those!)

MAKE-N-TAKE CARDS

I will also have 4 Make-N-Take cards available for you to purchase ($1 each) and put together. You can make just one or all 4....OR MORE!!! I will have all the supplies available to complete each; all you need to bring is your adhesive and your scissors. Who couldn't use some extra cards on hand for when you don't have time to run to the cardstore. And everyone LOVES to receive something that the giver has put their own time and effort into, making it extra-special!

If you do plan on participating in the Make-N-Take, please shoot me an e-mail or post a comment on this post so I am sure to have enough supplies on hand.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #49

I don't have any cupcake stamps, but I'm pretty happy with how my card turned out. So happy that I'm actually thinking of posting it on the Taylored Expressions blog! Big step for me....but a good one! :)

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

The squares with the music print are popped up, as well as the "valentine" & make my" labels and the heart. I made the labels by putting regular cardstock in a label maker and rubbing ink over the top to make the letters more visable. I've always wanted to try this technique, and I LOVE it! I will be doing that more often!!!

I didn't want to make something extremely feminine. I think this card could be given to a "Macho Man" without him thinking it was too corny... I don't know. What do you think?

Check out what the rest of the Cupcake Challenge crew put together on the Taylored Expressions website: http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Aged Sheet Music (Cornish Heritage Farms); Playful Flourishes & Elegant Script (Close To My Heart)
Cardstock: More to Adore Level 2 Paper Packet & Cranberry (Close To My Heart)
Ink: Cocoa & Black(Close To My Heart)
Tools: Rustic Heart & Circle punch, Label maker, Brown ultrafine opaque Art Glitter (Barbara Trombley's), pop dots (sort of! I ran out of pop dots, so I ran a piece of foam thru my Xyron to make my own!)

Victorian Birthday

This card is for my mother-in-laws birthday coming up in a couple weeks. I used the sketch below from
Taylored Expressions for inspiration. Check out her blog here: http://tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com/

I was so excited to be able to use my new toy, the Cuttlebug, on this card. I used the textile folder for the embossing. Other items used: Garnet cardstock (CTMH); embellishments and patterned paper are from a kit I bought at Target over a year ago....finally using it!

Hope you all had a safe and festive New Year's celebration! I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to a better year! :)
