White Wednesday 101

Last weekend was our annual
neighborhood rummage sale!

I did not have time to put together my own sale,
nor did I have much time to plunder, unfortunately.

But I did manage to find a couple
of white treasures to share for

I'm always on the look-out for
crocheted doilies,
tablecloths,
and vintage jewelery
to use in my crafting!

I think this pin would look nice on a journal.

Cameos are ALWAYS a good find!

And isn't she adorable!
Another good journal or
altered canvas piece!

But here is my favorite find!

A crocheted lace and pearl collar!

I don't think I could have too many of these!

Even though I really don't know what
I will do with them.
Do you have any suggestions???

Happy White Wednesday Hugs!

MIA

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since my last post!
(altered pic of my roses, taken in their prime)

Been lacking creative mojo lately!
Just not feeling into making or doing much of anything...

About all I have to show for the last 2 weeks is this card
I put together from last weeks
Mojo Monday card sketch:
The paper reminded me of a dress.
So I pulled out some notions:
hooks & eyes, lace, ric-rac.

And added a little stitching around the edge.

I think I need to go find some inspiration!
Cuz this is getting ridiculous!
Maybe I'll snap out of it soon!

Hope things are going well in your corner of the world...

Hugs!

My Box of Fun Has Arrived!

I was so excited to get home today!  I had this box of fun goodies waiting for me!
I found a wonderful shop for mixed media supplies ~  I think it was a link on one of my blogging friends site.
Gail also has a blog!  And an etsy shop!
I had placed my order on Friday afternoon ~ I can't believe how quick it arrived!
Just look at the seam binding ribbon!  I can't wait to play with this stuff!
It is incredibly soft...
And they had back issues of some of my fav mags ~ Somerset Studio & Somerset Life.
I hardly ever actually buy these magazines cuz they are so expensive.  I will go to B&N and just sit for what seems like hours and try to soak up as much as I can!
So I couldn't pass up the chance to get these at such a bargain!
I just flipped it open to this page, and I can't wait to see what else is waiting for me!

 ~ Check out Gail's place ~
I think you'll love it!

Forgotten Treasure

The other day, Taylor & I were in my craft room looking for sheet music she could use for a project she was working on when she stumbled upon this book.

It's a beautiful music book I bought, I believe it was last year, and put on my shelf ~ out of sight and out of mind! I can't believe I actually FORGOT that I had this! It is so beautiful!

I love the way the pages look, and the beautiful song titles...

And every now and then there is a picture, either of a composer or a vocalist. The back of the book even has biographical information on the composers and artists.

I just can't bring myself to take this book apart! Some day I will figure out how to scan pages from books to be used in projects. But until then, it will sit on our piano, where it belongs. Maybe someday my daughter will be able to play some of the songs for me...wouldn't that be a nice treat!

I did find, with the help of one of my favorite blog sites The Feathered Nest, a website that provides sheet music from all time periods. So if you are looking for sheet music to use in a project, this is much easier to use than precious treasures of the past! ~Click here ~ to check it out.

Treasure Hunting!

Taylor and I went treasure hunting today! Look at all the goodies we found! Will be using most of this stuff to make items to post on our Etsy shop. Check out what we've been working on this week in the sidebar!

A fun bunch of doo-dads for accent pieces!

One can never have too much lace! And I have ideas for the trays...stay tuned!

Getting ready for spring decorating!

Hmmmmm....whatever can I do with teddies? :)

I just loved the colors of these ribbons - champagne and light rose - beautiful!

Better view of colors...

I'm excited! I have lots of ideas flying around in my head! Now to find the time to get them done - that will be the challenge!

Look Ma ~ No Lace! Verve Oct Release Party

Tonight my dh had to work - someone called in sick - so I used the opportunity to play! Was able to finish a card I started last night, AND get 2 more cards done, too!!! I used 3 sketches from theVerve October Release Party.

First up: Retro Rover! Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I wanted the bottom strip to look kinda like a dog collar with the tag hanging off. Hopefully that point gets across... The dog is cut out and popped, and the green portion is popped, but you can't see it too well in the pictures.

Recipe: Latte matstack (DCWV); Retro Rovers stamp (TAC); Brilliance Starlight Silver ink, Outdoor Denim ink (CTMH); watercolor pencils, Big Bite, Gamsol.

The next 2 cards are more my style - vintage.

Sketch:
My Card:

I got this picture from Vintage Stampers Freebies! Lots of cool pictures on this blog to use for papercrafting! I love to use vintage "findings" on my crafties! Here I used a stick pin that's been sitting in my stash for quite awhile - it's about time I used it!

The flowers were sprayed with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist. I used a heat gun to speed up the dry time...but be careful! Don't whither the flowers (experience speaking here)! Charm and pearl button are also from my stash. I opted to leave out the journaling piece. Maybe I'll add it later when the card is needed for sending....maybe using a Nestabilities label! That would look nice! :)

Recipe: K&Co "Hannah", CDWV matstack papers; Old Paper distress ink; Pearl Glimmer Mist.

Next Up - Sketch:
My card:
I used a bit of creative license on this one...the little tab on the focal point just wouldn't work with what I had in mind, so I substituted a flower. Works for me! Lots of distressing on this one...almost wonder if it wasn't too much... But I'm happy with the end results so I'm not going to worry about it! :)

I found an old dictionary at a garage sale this summer so I used that for the "ribbon" across the bottom. The large butterflies are popped for dimension.

Recipe: K&Co "Ancestry paper; Vintage Postcard (CTMH), Travel (SeeD's), Postal (SeeD's), Collage Elements (SeeD's) stamps; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; "Bliss" Kaiser pearls.

OK - I'm done now! PHEW!!!! Long post! Productive night!
